A Celebration of Community
The 2nd Annual Walk of the Nations will be an opportunity for everyone on the Island to walk together as a celebration of acceptance, understanding and reconciliation of all peoples
The Walk is a legacy of the Cowichan 2008 North American Indigenous Games. In 2008, more than 1,300 people from all over the Island walked together in the 1st Annual Walk.
Background
The Walk of the Nations began in 2008 as a legacy of the Cowichan 2008 North American Indigenous Games. The Walk Committee came together and started to plan an event that would see the entire community come together and walk for acceptance, understanding, respect and reconciliation of all peoples living in the Cowichan Valley.
